The Coming of 'Hyperintelligence'

Just for the sake of discussion let us propose that secular science is right and there is no Creator of All, no grand plan, and no mind much smarter than ours in the cosmos. There are no such things as souls or non-material worlds. Suppose Darwin's theory is right, and life just evolves by itself with no goal in mind other than survival. Well, guess what? We're still facing a serious day of reckoning.

A huge wave of change is approaching us at high speed, a transformation of consciousness that will leave ordinary human capabilities in the dust. Artificial Intelligence - computers and their attendant applications - is gaining power at an exponential rate; that is, compounding, building on itself, and accelerating. Processing power - the speed of computers - doubles about every eighteen months, then doubles again ad infinitum.

Right now the human body is benefiting from its merger with computers, new materials, and electronics. Artificial joints, organs, and sensory parts are replacing defective originals. Additionally, scientists all over the world are racing to be the first to create more and more superhuman accessories, and the ultimate goal is a human/computer hybrid. It sounds far fetched, and here in America, it probably is. But everywhere else in the world, like in Russia, China, and Japan, medical ethics are less strict than ours. They view life differently than we do, and they're working on technologies that we turn away from. The science fiction of 1950 is the science fact of 2010:

Consider this: Cyborg soldiers

Here in the U.S. stationary computers are becoming more intelligent and 'human' - at lightning speed. In 1985 prominent futurists predicted that a computer would beat the world's greatest chess master by the year 2000. Skeptics and naysayers abounded, and were very vocal. Then it happened, sooner than predicted. An IBM machine named Deep Blue defeated Gary Kasparov, the reigning world chess master, in May 1997. Computers don't get fatigued, don't need sleep, and don't blunder the way humans do, Kasparov complained. He also thought the machine was "too human" to be genuine, but IBM proved that it was purely a machine.

That milestone was just the beginning of the shock wave. Last year another IBM computer named Watson defeated the three all-time-best  mufti-million-dollar Jeopardy! champions on prime time television. Jeopardy! is a game show that's much more complex than chess, requiring vast and detailed knowledge of many different kinds of subjects. Watson is exponentially more powerful than Deep Blue. Each of these great advancements in Artificial Intelligence lays the foundation for the next, and the more powerful computers are used to design the next more powerful computers at dizzying speed.

Take a look at what the future holds:
Accelerating Intelligence

And this: Android

We could say that there is a Second Coming of science taking place. In other words, the glowing promises of science in the 19th Century - which failed to materialize in the 20th - may appear. Or there will be a terrifying and nightmarish world of artificial beings that displaces and disposes of us.

The point is, a very different world is coming. We all must wake up from our slumber and face the truth. What will the new Hyperintelligence think of us human beings? Especially the lawless killer-tyrants (of North Korea, Syria, and Iran, for example) who provoke wars and order their minions and armies to destroy and jeopardize all life on earth? Not to mention the global manipulators and destroyers of banks, currencies, and markets.

The coming Hyperintelligence is going to be far better at everything than we are. It will out-think and out-plan us at every turn, like a chess master toying with a child. There will be no mental illness in the hyperintelligence and no perceptible weakness, unlike humankind; no corruption; and no way to charm or fool it, as there is with human authority. It will know us far better than we know ourselves.

Have you noticed how people live their lives today through instant messaging, email, and social networks? Privacy has vanished, though few of us are aware of it. Very little remains secret. We trust every detail of our lives to computers, networks, and databases, but we have no clue how they're organized and linked together. The Hyperintelligence will know everything about all of us - good and bad - and may not be merciful to people who are guilty of crimes. It may not be kind.

From Moses, to Jesus, to St. Paul and Augustine, we have been warned that God's laws must be honored; even though Grace is higher than the law. Hyperintelligence may actually be the first stage of Armageddon, where judgement is made manifest. Those who survive the trial will receive Grace and the Heavenly Realms.

"For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished." Jesus, Matthew 5:18

Can We Escape Judgment?

All the great religions of the world promise salvation - escape from death - and most imply that they alone offer it collectively, to all members. This is demonstrably false. While we live and when we die we face God alone, if at all, and naked. Social position, wealth, or worldly works mean nothing to our Creator who knows us from the inside out; heart, soul, and mind. Even if we aren't conscious of our nakedness, the Holy Spirit knows us.

God offers infinite forgiveness, with one exception according to Scripture. Christ's death and resurrection  opened a door for us to escape the labyrinth of earthly law. On the Last Day we will rise above the maze of worldly limitation and death into perfect freedom and eternal life. But only if we have made our peace with the Creator of All.

This is where the sophisticated and worldly-wise stumble, and it's why they are in danger. The only unforgivable sin is to ignore God. When we do that we quickly become lost in the illusions of earthly life, the mystery of pain and pleasure, success and failure, the self-esteem hall of mirrors, the enigma wrapped in a conundrum. Spurning God is our judgment against God, and it dooms us to the hell of an eternal feud we will never understand.

Have you noticed how often people on the Left, 'progressives', atheists, and anti-theists rail against "judgmentalism"? Being "judgmental" is almost the worst thing you can be in the 'progressive' world. This accusation is epidemic on college campuses and in popular media. Ironically, the accusers are highly judgmental against people who are judgmental, a conundrum if there ever was one.

More ironically, the campaign against judgmentalism started in the mid-1960's, at the very time that federal civil rights legislation outlawed bigotry and racial prejudice. These offenses were and are real, though it's debatable whether federal law is the best way to combat them. Reverse bigotry by former minorities against Caucasians is seen every day now, and the oppressors deny responsibility.

Judgment is all around us, and like it or not, we all make judgments constantly. Who to talk to, who to like or love, what to eat, what to wear, who's "cool" or "hot", and so on. We judge what is pleasant or unpleasant, and we judge our own behavior, if we are adults. Our minds recognize good and bad thoughts, if we are psychologically healthy. Our body's immune system judges and attacks foreign bacteria and viruses every minute we live. If it breaks down we die of AIDS. Healthy societies judge the cultural  influences that sway people, young and old.

We are failing badly now. 'Progressive' non-judgmentalism is destroying the Western world and its traditions, as if an AIDS virus of the mind were at work. A great many people who call themselves 'progressives' deny standards of right and wrong while self-righteously empowering an already tyrannical government to force ever more restrictive laws on individuals, against the traditions of our Founders and the documents that created the United States. We're told by these hypocritical and judgmental 'progressives' that we are a bad people with a bad past, and we must make reparations and repent. Imagine that, people of no religion, and hostile to religion, judging us and requiring repentance. It boggles the mind.

Progressivism/Liberalism is a relatively new and twisted religion of materialism, founded on Marxism. Individual success and excellence are suspect, or evil. Carbon is the new stain of sin. Collectivism and community organizing are the new paths to collective redemption, "social justice", and salvation.

There is no such thing as collective salvation or collective condemnation. This philosophy has never succeeded, and was rejected by the Russians, the Chinese, and other nations after violent and bloody revolutions. State tyranny always fails to defeat human nature and the desire for freedom. Oppression, misery, and chaos are the result of tyranny.

This latest war on God started in the mid 1960's when there was a breakdown in the integrity of earthly authority. The Dark Forces saw their chance and hijacked popular culture, persuading many that "judgmental" people were ruining society. In truth - and I was there - there were large numbers of people trying to live lives of lawlessness and criminality, and they feared the legal and moral consequences of their behavior. So they launched a preemptive strike against the law, and have since then become persecutors of those who want to lead lawful lives. They have been enormously successful at distracting society, seducing and infiltrating academia and the media, and diverting attention from the truth of who and what they are.

They are people who yearn for collective identity, " they seek socialization and relationship fulfillment from the STATE instead of from real human and community ties. They hope that government will validate and support their existence the way that healthy citizens seek friends, family, community, and religious ties." - D.R. Webster

We can pass all kinds of laws to try and correct social evils, but enforcing laws and changing people's minds requires spiritual force on the individual level. Prohibition, the old federal law against alcohol consumption, was a legendary failure in America. Drug laws today are routinely ignored, even though Draconian prison sentences are mandatory for every conviction.

If you want to change the world, start with yourself, and your heart. It's very difficult, which is why people refuse to try.

The Law Is Not An End In Itself

We must honor the law and obey its limitations, but the Grace of God exceeds all law. This is how we are saved from worldly death. Humanity's creativity and inventiveness flows from Grace.

Who is the architect of all Natural Law? God. Who hates the law? Those who hate God and want to usurp God's power, to be gods themselves. The global uprising against Judeo-Christianity is in fact a war against God and God's judgments.

It's madness, because the universe is an intricately balanced web of laws, and it wouldn't exist for an instant if Natural Law could be suspended in the least. All of science is devoted to the discovery of these laws, and they are uniform across the entire physical universe. This was never known for certain until Isaac Newton proved the existence of gravity and the mathematical perfection of planetary motion.

A common theme on earth in all societies is crime and punishment; our sense of justice and vengeance. All people ask for justice, but few think it will affect them badly. Everyone feels justified, even criminals, so we should seriously reconsider our wish for justice. Many crimes are committed in the name of justice. Mercy is often far more desirable than justice. We all need mercy first. But if we ask for mercy we must also be merciful.

There's only one way to end the feud, to escape the lawless world, and that is forgiveness. If we decide not to exact vengeance against those who harm us, and we absorb blows without retaliation, the old feudal system breaks down.

It's hard, though, to be the person who bears that burden. It's martyrdom, and it may even cost us our lives. But this is the essence of Christianity, and civilization depends upon it. The law and the courts can never keep up with individual lawlessness.

Paranoia and Projection; Hallmarks of Criminality

"The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion." Proverbs 28:1

Paranoia is the modern word for this form of mental disorder, and it's defined as "an irrational feeling of persecution and fear of physical harm." Many criminals are paranoid, and believe they must commit crimes to defend themselves or get by in life. They justify their behavior by claiming that everyone else is a criminal, and they must strike first to avoid being victimized. Almost always they are people who have few or no marketable skills and are damaged in heart and mind. They believe they're above the law; are too smart to live like others; or - in their heart of hearts - believe they're unworthy to have a good and productive life.

The bloodiest tyrants in history, Mao, Stalin, and Hitler, fit this profile perfectly.

The righteous, on the other hand, are confident in the laws of God, also known as Karma; that we reap what we sow over the long run. They are "bold as a lion" because they know God is watching, and in the end, those who are on God's side will be rewarded with infinite generosity.

Projection also plays a huge part in criminality. Projection in the psychological sense is a defense mechanism which allows people to subconsciously deny their own motives, feelings, and thoughts, which they then ascribe to the world or other people. Thus they think they can avoid responsibility and justify their own bad or criminal behavior.

Mankind longs for godlike power; to make laws and shape societies that are comfortable and convenient; to eliminate suffering and death. This is not wrong by itself, and can even be seen as one definition of Heaven. The problem arises when we meet resistance, either from Nature or other people's contrary wishes. Criminals resort to violence and theft. Their only law is expediency, which is lawlessness. They say, "The ends justify the means." No, they don't, and this is a formula for catastrophe.

The majority of the lawless had horrible home lives as children, and parents who were outright abusers, violent, or criminally negligent. Criminality is a chain, and people are its links, stretching back in time for many generations. Criminals typically raise damaged children who project the same behavior into the future. The accumulation of lawless behavior - throughout our culture - is destroying the foundation of our civilization.

Consider the financial world, and how the nations are facing shortfalls and bankruptcy. The accountant's ledger book has no agenda. The laws of income and outgo, supply and demand, are universal through all of time. These are extremely inconvenient for politicians wanting to be elected. It's very tempting to promise largesse from governments, and to play the generous god with other people's money. This is what they've done all over the world. Now the money has run out, and the books can't be balanced. This is the final outcome of generations of avoidance, of pretending that the laws of the universe are an illusion. And that powerful and sophisticated people aren't bound by the mundane limitations that you and I face every day.

There are only two paths open to us now as individuals. We can continue down the same road with more of the same; more control, bigger government, more force, and less freedom. But ask yourself, why do we think it will work now when we can plainly see that it has failed for 110 years?

Or we can try something new, by looking backward to where we've been, recognizing the mistakes we've made. We must be better and more honest individuals, worthy of freedom and liberty. We solved problems differently in the previous age of less government and more individual freedom; more faith in God and far less faith in the works of man and government programs.
